Everything you need to know about creating and managing hyperboards.
What is Hyperboards?
Hyperboards is a visualization platform for displaying contributors in proportional treemap layouts. Each tile represents a contributor, sized according to their contribution value.
Whether you're showcasing sponsors, recognizing team members, or displaying community contributors, hyperboards provide an elegant way to visualize participation proportionally.
Getting Started
Connect your account
Sign in with your Bluesky handle using the AT Protocol. Your boards are stored on your Personal Data Server (PDS).
Create a board
Click "New Board" from your dashboard. Give it a title and optionally a description to help identify its purpose.
Add contributors
Add contributors manually or import from GitHub. Each contributor can have a name, avatar, link, and contribution value.
Share your board
Copy the direct link or embed code to share your hyperboard on websites, documentation, or social media.
Managing Contributors
Adding contributors: Click the "+" tile or use the "Add Contributor" button. Fill in their details including name, avatar URL, and contribution value.
Adjusting proportions: Drag the corners of any tile to resize it. The percentage shown represents that contributor's share of the total.
Editing details: Click on any tile to edit the contributor's information, including their display name, avatar, link URL, and whether the image should be circular.
Import from GitHub: Paste a GitHub repository URL to automatically import contributors based on their commit history.
Customization
Background images: Add a custom background image to your board. Control its opacity and whether it appears in grayscale.
Image styles: Choose between circular avatars (great for people) or contained images (better for logos and brands).
Grayscale mode: Apply a grayscale filter to all contributor images for a unified, elegant look.
Built on AT Protocol
Hyperboards is built on the AT Protocol, the decentralized social networking protocol that powers Bluesky.
Your hyperboards are stored as records in your Personal Data Server (PDS), giving you full ownership and portability of your data. This means:
- You own your data — it lives on your PDS
- Portable identity — your boards follow your account
- Interoperable — other apps can read and display your boards
- No vendor lock-in — export or move your data anytime
Hypercerts Integration
Hyperboards is part of the Hypercerts ecosystem — a protocol for impact certificates and contributor recognition.
Hypercerts provide a way to represent and reward contributions to public goods. Hyperboards visualize these contributions, making it easy to recognize and celebrate the people behind impactful work.
